Big Thunder Marine Winterization

  • Big Thunder Marine will leave the boat as we found it. (i.e. battery charger on/off, no dock lines tied to vessel, or uncovered) Big Thunder cannot be held liable for low or dead batteries in the spring. Please see below if specific instructions are needed.
  • All requests are placed on schedule as 1st come 1st serve basis. If freezing temperatures occur prior to scheduling of winterization Big Thunder cannot be held liable for the condition of the boat in the following spring.
  • Big Thunder cannot assume any liability for freeze damage to the outdrive(s) if normal annual outdrive service is not completed. (Water could seep through seals, prop shafts etc.)
  • Holding tank must be emptied prior to winterization, if pump out needed Big Thunder can do so for an additional charge. All consumable items inside refrigerators or onboard must be removed to prevent freezing and causing damage.
  • Big Thunder Marine cannot be held liable for winterization if spring commissioning is completed by another company or owner of the vessel
  • Once a request is received Big Thunder will respond with a written estimate for all requests. Customers must approve in writing to be placed in the service schedule.
  • Once winterization is completed the vessel will be tag and marked DO NOT START. Vessel will not be able to be used until Spring Commissioning is completed.
  • All offsite services must have a Credit Card on file prior to services being completed.
  • Discount of service call for multiple units at one dock.
  • Boat must be picked up within 7 days after completion or storage charges of $50 per day will begin to occur due to limited space.
